St Teresa’s is one of two parishes serving the growing population of Ashford. The same faith which inspired its foundation almost 150 years ago continues to find its expression in a lively community bringing together people of many races all united by their love of God. It is this love which calls us all to work together to build up our community and to care for all in need.
SAINT TERESA OF JESUS, our Patroness, was born at Avila, Old Castile, on 28th March, 1515. Born of a great Spanish family, her name was Teresa Sanchez Cepeda D’Avila y Ahumada. She was brought up by her saintly father and by a tender, pious mother. Her mother died when Teresa was twelve years old.
Our mission is to be a welcoming and prayerful parish, rooted in the love of Christ and inspired by the life and teachings of St Teresa of Avila.
To be a welcoming parish rooted in Christ, where the priest and people journey together in faith, prayer and service – building a community of love, hope and unity.
