The Liturgical Ministries at St. Teresa’s Church play a vital role in enhancing the celebration of the Mass and other sacred liturgies. These ministries serve to deepen our communal worship, ensuring that every Mass is reverent, prayerful, and engaging for all. Whether through assisting at the altar, proclaiming the Word of God, distributing the Eucharist, or preparing the church for worship, each ministry contributes to the beauty and solemnity of our liturgical celebrations.
There is a place here for everyone. We warmly welcome new volunteers to serve in these ministries. If you feel called to participate, explore the different roles below and consider joining us in service to God and our parish community.
The Altar Server Ministry is composed of young (and not so young) boys and girls who under the guidance of the Parish Priest want to volunteer their time and talents to serve at Masses and Services at St Teresa’s Parish. Anyone who has received their First Holy Communion is eligible to serve and we are always looking to increase our numbers.
An Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion in the Catholic Church is, under the Code of Canon Law, “an acolyte, or another of Christ’s faithful deputed”, in certain circumstances, to distribute Holy Communion.
The proclamation of the Word of God is an essential part of the Eucharist. The Church teaches that when the Word is proclaimed, God is speaking to his people. It is important, therefore, that Readers are trained and prepare for reading each week.
The church cleaning group work on a rota system to keep the church bright and clean. More volunteers are needed. Please get in touch if you would like to join.
